The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, just announced a big plan to change many gas stations into electric vehicle charging centers. This is part of the government's plan to help Ghana switch to clean energy and use less fossil fuels.
Jinapor talked about this plan at an energy policy forum on March 19. He said Ghana needs to get ready for electric vehicles because they're the future. He thinks there will be many electric cars on Ghana's roads soon, and this will happen within the next 10 years.

The minister also talked about how electric vehicle technology has improved. Now, you can charge your car in just 5-10 minutes! He said:
"What we are going to do is to convert most of our filling stations and take some space and put in place charging stations. And today with technology, in just five minutes to 10 minutes, you can charge your car and continue to move."
