A 19-year-old farmer, Daniel Mahama, has been fined GH₵ 4,800.00 by the Toase Magistrate Court in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality for stealing five sacks of ginger valued at GH₵17,500.00. The incident occurred at Gyankobaa near Toase, where both Mahama and the complainant, Mary Appiah, are residents and farmers.
According to Police Detective Chief Inspector Ntim Boadu, Mahama was caught red-handed by the complainant on March 21, harvesting her ginger. Mahama admitted to the offense and revealed that he sold the stolen ginger to an unknown woman. After further investigations, he was charged and brought before the court.

Mahama pleaded guilty to theft and was convicted on his own plea. The court, presided over by Mr. Robert Addo, ordered him to pay a fine of GH₵ 4,800.00 or serve 12 months' imprisonment in default. This ruling serves as a warning to would-be thieves and emphasizes the importance of respecting other people's property.
