Ghana's healthcare system is about to get a significant boost. Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has announced plans to upgrade the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, popularly known as Ridge Hospital, into a Teaching Hospital. This move is part of the government's broader strategy to enhance healthcare delivery nationwide.

The upgrade aims to improve access to quality medical training and services, aligning with efforts to expand and modernize the country's healthcare system. But that's not all - the government is also committed to establishing at least one regional hospital in all sixteen regions.
Existing health facilities won't be left behind, though. Akandoh emphasized the need to renovate and upgrade existing infrastructure to complement new facilities. This includes improving Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

The goal is to create a more efficient healthcare system, with linked facilities and upgraded infrastructure. This is definitely a step in the right direction for Ghana's healthcare system.
