This is great news for the trainees, who have been facing a lot of challenges with delayed payments. Many of them have had to wait for several months to get their allowances, which made it hard for them to take care of their basic needs like transportation, food, and study materials.

President Mahama said, "There is good news for teacher and nursing trainees. Nursing and teacher trainees allowances are to be paid directly by the Controller and Accountant-General."
He also explained that this new system will make sure that the allowances are paid on time, every time. "This means that anytime public sector workers receive their monthly salaries, teacher and nursing trainees will also receive their allowances".
