Otumfuo To Chair New Round of Bawku Mediation Talks


The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is expected to resume his mediation efforts today, April 28, aimed at resolving the long-standing conflict between the two factions in Bawku.

This initiative follows assurances from President John Mahama that the government will continue to support the Asantehene's lead role in seeking a lasting resolution and restoring calm to the troubled Bawku enclave.

In a statement issued on April 15, 2025, the Manhyia Palace officially announced that these crucial mediation sessions would be held in Kumasi, at the Asantehene's palace, from today, April 28, to Thursday, May 1, 2025.

 These talks are considered a pivotal step in the ongoing national efforts to bring an end to the disturbances in Bawku, and are a significant development in the quest for peace and stability in the area.
